ok i enjoyed this. but here’s the thing. i think it could have been such a good story if the pacing and length was different. i guessed most of the plot twists lol but that’s okay. i just think it was way too short. like i like that it was a standalone but i think it needed to be like 100 pages longer. anyway it was a decent story just wanted more :)

Okay so this book has taken over my mind and my thoughts and I can't stop talking about it it is amazing it is so good like I am returning to this book it is PHENOMONAL these CHARACTERS!!! They're everything!!!! Rune is so dreamy and delectable and all the right blends of sassy and seductive and protective and oh my god Elma she's... when I say she's unique I mean she truly is UNIQUE we see her doing QUEENLY DUTIES she's not just royalty with a name and pretty dresses and a crown shes actually doing work and she is ruthless and bloodthirsty but also has a kind hard that is trying to undo stuff shes learned and they are just SO GOOD together and the MAGIC, the whole concept of it, I have convinced like four of my coworkers to buy this book I LOVE IIITTT!!

The characters developed well, and I enjoy the enemies to lovers dynamic. I love Rune! What a good book! HOWEVER, the ending seemed very rushed with not much conclusion. I wish the book was just more developed, especially transitions between s enes. I would have loved more conversation between the two in the beginning, even if it was surface level.That said, I still read this in like two days because I was hooked on the two lovers.

Perfect TRUE enemies to lovers, good plot, good setting. Five stars for that reason, and I want this author to write more!
