"Every Last Secret" by A.R. Torre is the second book I've read by this author, and while I wasn't entirely sure what to expect going in, it turned out to be a very gripping ride! One that provides a slow but satisfying burn that, dare I say, is sorta cozy at times... Plus, it motivated me to write another once-in-a-blue-moon review, so here we go.
At first glance, the story seems like a typical tale of one-dimensional affluent elites harboring dark secrets and potentially sinister intentions (Been there, done that!). However, Torre masterfully peels back the layers of her characters, revealing their true natures in a way that keeps you on the edge of your seat as the disturbingly addictive plot unfolds.
The novel’s strength lies in the author’s engaging and fluid writing, making it easy to get lost in the drama and tension that permeate every chapter and POV. Despite sorta predicting some of the ending, I adored how intricately it was all woven together, and overall it was SO DAMN satisfying! The epilogue, in particular, is a delicate and well-thought-out surprise cherry on top. What initially feels like an incoming cookie-cutter conclusion suddenly takes a turn and delivers a reflective and thought-provoking finish that stayed with me long after I turned the last page.
With that said, "Every Last Secret" is a compelling read that aims to go beyond the clichés of its genre. A.R. Torre once again proves her talent for crafting slightly out-of-the-box narratives… And I’m now off to make a grilled cheese on sourdough since this book, for obvious reasons, now has me craving one!

This was a seriously addictive thriller... I did not want to put it down. And when I did, it was all I was thinking about.

Los personajes retorcidos y oscuros de esta autora siempre me gustan, la historia bien entretenida así que todo bien.
This was an easy read focusing on two married couples in a wealthy neighborhood where secrets abound. Unfortunately, I struggled to find redeeming qualities in the main characters and felt indifferent throughout the story. Skip this one.
