There are 4 books in this series
1. Odd Thomas
2. Forever Odd
3. Brother Odd
4. Odd Hours
The main character is Odd Thomas, he is one of my favorite characters. You have to read these in order, Brother Odd was my least favorite and Odd Hours was my favorite.

This is probably my least favorite Odd so far. It don't know what it was. It wasn't bad. It just didn't feel as impactful to me as the other books have so far. It felt a little TOO big, if that makes sense. I'm interested to see where everything goes though with the new characters now all traveling together.

The thing I have to say about the Odd Thomas books is, the side characters make the story. If it weren't for the quirky cohorts that Odd finds along the way, it would be very easy for the series to become heavy and even depressing. But somehow Odd always manages to find these people who, even while he's going through these huge crises, manage to make you laugh. My absolute favorite by far in this book was Hutch, the elderly retired actor that has given Odd a job in the beginning of the story. The man is an absolute delight!

SpoilerAs a sort of spoilery aside, I loved Frank Sinatra (and I'm sad that he's gone, I hoped we might have many more books with him!), but I definitely missed Elvis. I know he had to go on, but it felt strangely lonely without him. At least we still have Boo! :)

Here's another book where the main villain isn't supernatural in nature. In general, those are better, but this wasn't too bad. While the actual threat was completely human in nature, it did actually rely on a good amount of supernatural gifts in order to both understand what's going on as well as contribute to solving the problem, so that's good.

I really love this series by Koontz. Odd is such a great character you can't help but love his adventures. I don't think that this was the best Odd book, but it was still really good!

I had been on a long break from horror and suspense when I was convinced to give Dean Koontz’s Odd Thomas books a try. From the beginning, they had me hooked. This latest installment was no different. It seemed to leave more to my imagination, more loose ends, than the others...or maybe I was just paying attention differently. In any event, I enjoyed it and would recommend the series highly (or, really, any part of the series - I think any of the books would stand alone just fine).

I had forgotten how very much I love Odd Thomas, his straight-faced humor, and his personal life philosophy. It only took a couple of pages for me to remember what a great character he is.

The story is honestly kind of more of the same--Odd is trying to stop the bad guys before they can hurt a lot of people. But the little town of Magic Beach is shrouded in fog and that made it all so much more atmospheric. And really it's supposed to be taking place in one evening/night, but in my mind, it was all taking place in the afternoon. Whatever.

Odd gets to meet some more eccentric, lovely characters and there's a pretty big setup for the next in the series. I'm not sure where he's going with this, but, as the mysterious Annamaria would say, "All things in their time."

Two things did stand out to me: the word Polterfrank cracked me up every time I read it, and there were NO BODACHS!!!!! YAY!!!!!! Man, those things creep me out. I was glad they didn't show up this time.

I thought this was slightly better than the previous, [b:Brother Odd|14996|Brother Odd (Odd Thomas Novel, Book 3)|Dean Koontz|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1166669293s/14996.jpg|944261], and I will definitely continue on with the series.

This book deserves more than a 3 but less than a 4, I have really gotten into the series and am excited to see where Anna - Marie and Odd are headed now that we have left Magic Beach.
