Extremely weird comment on the first page about a man sometimes wishing he had been born as a Black man, and further weird descriptions of a Black woman who doesn’t even get a name in the first 30 pages when like 6 other nonBlack ppl get named. Just called ‘The Amazon’. No thanks.

This story is just as heavy on romantic relationship between the two main characters as it is on the action and frankly, I could have skipped that part. While some of the hurricane info is interesting, most of the main plot points are entirely predictable. It's pretty obvious from the start that our hero will end up in the water facing his demons, Dr. McKenna will save the day, and our hero and heroine will end up together, etc., etc.
