While I was eating up the angst and drama of this whole story, when we get to the present chapters, it loses the steam. Lennon loses the weight she was bullied for her whole life (the author did try to show that Lennon had an unhealthy relationship with food before (binge eating) and when she learned to be healthier with her choices and habits, that's when the weight started falling off...so not completely a bad thing, but also not the greatest plus-size rep. I do think she is a bit on the "heavier" side still. Maybe thick is the right word.) and despite her hatred of Phoenix, I didn't feel like she was sticking to her revenge all that much. He really did her dirty and once they get back in each other's presence, it's like she just can't stop feeling things for him and the whole enemies thing falls apart. I get why Phoenix would be nervous to have Lennon back in his life, given he stole her song and that's what put his band on the charts, but you'd think he'd be begging for forgiveness. A simple conversation could have probably ended that conflict (which from reading reviews, is what the second half is about) before it began.
