Nothing wrong with the book, I just didn't get into it properly and then my audio book subscription ended so I just didn't get back to it.
I absolutely adored this! If you’re looking for a swoony and mesmerizing historical MM romance, look no further! Kit used to be a highwayman, but due to an injury he has a physical disability that forced him into “retirement” so that he now runs a coffee shop. Percy is an aristocrat who tries to convince Kit to come out of said retirement in order to help him steal a book from his own father for...reasons that are slowly revealed as the book progresses.
This had some fantastic tropes, such as class difference, grumpy-sunshine, hurt/comfort, and drunken confessions. It was sweet and swoony, and also made me chuckle a few times. The tension between Kit and Percy made me not want to put it down until I got to the end. I also listened along with the audiobook, and Joel Leslie did some fantastic narration. I definitely plan to explore more of Sebastian’s backlist, and immediately ordered a physical copy of this book to display on my shelves.
*A big thank you to Netgalley, Avon, and Harper Voyager for providing a free ecopy in exchange for an honest review*

This book was such a fun romp! I have not read much historical romance and I have to say I was going in not sure, but boy did I have fun reading this one. I was also excited to read a historical M/M romance.
I listened to the audio book and thought the narrator did such an amazing job capturing the two characters and their very distinct personalities.
I loved the whole grumpy/sunshine trope between the two male characters. Kit and Percy were the whole opposite attract vibe. I loved seeing how each of them brought out the tender side in the other.
The mystery that continues throughout the story was a fun thread. I thought it was creative and added to the whole plot and made things more interesting.
I’m looking forward to reading the second one in the series!

This book was a delight! Perfect first read for 2024.
I’m beginning to think I’m going to be unable to find a Cat Sebastian book that isn’t delightful; because The Queer Principles of Kitt Webb was just that! And it was my first read of the year, and my first five stars of 2024! It is / has:
🐎 M/M historical romance
☕️ Opposites attract
🐎 Allies to lovers
☕️ Teaching
🐎 Love after loss
Once again I fell in love with the main characters in The Queer Principles of Kitt Webb (it’s a Cat Sebastian book, of course I did), Kit is honourable and gentle; Percy, sarcastic but incredibly likeable. Together they were perfection, the moments they interacted stole my heart. Their banter was excellent, especially Percy’s sarcasm. It had me snort laughing in the street, highlighting long passages (not just short ones) and smiling until my cheeks ached.
This will easily become another comfort read and listen for me, just like Hither, Page and We Could Be So Good by Sebastian.
🎧 Excellent audiobook, initially I was hesitant about the narrator but they ended up perfect for the story and characters. I would (make that will) relisten to this.
