Fun book! Good emotional connection between the main characters. The heist part was abruptly confusing but overall a fun read and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series

This was a pretty interesting read. I did think the adventure was relatively fun. I do think the whole ending with the book was VERY anti-climactic tbh. But overall a good read.

There were so many lovely moments in this book - I highlighted a lot.

I love that it was set in the Georgian era; I imprinted on Justin in These Old Shades and love a rake in a wig and heels. I loved Kit (grumpy), who I do wish had been in his late 30s/early 40s for extra growliness, and Percy (sunshine), who swans around in vibrantly hued silk and beauty patches. Their banter is exquisite in true Cat Sebastian style.

I do think the pacing was off; it felt like a really slow burn even at 42%. I think that’s because they were so flirtatious/suggestive almost immediately that it felt like it took them forever to get to a kiss.

All that said, I really liked it AND it had the added bonus of making me extremely intrigued about Marian, Percy’s friend/stepmother. She was clearly up to a lot during this story, but we didn’t get to see it. Cannot wait to read her book.
