I spent the whole book clinging to the development of Miriam and Rachel, begging for Rachel to heal, and craving frozen yogurt. I love the insight into Rachel's thoughts, the way Broder writes. The detail that makes it easy to imagine every moment, which is something I usually struggle with.
A story that truly exemplifies the notion that some people are not meant to be in our lives forever, and we are still able to - and should be - grateful for what they provide while they are here. The lessons they teach, the memories they create, and the person they shape us to be.

as an ex-roman-catholic, i always appreciate insight into the daily lives of people of other strong/intense religions (such as judaism) so i liked being able to see that here.
miriam also felt, to me, though, a character that we never really learned about? like i never realllyyy understood what her connection was with her family that made her choose them so often, and so whenever she did it just felt out of the blue to me.
at times i felt that the humor of the book was cheesy or bad, but other times i found it genuinely funny.
overall, weird book. kind of triggering, and then erotic. i wouldn’t read it again. definitely skip like the first 50 pages if you’ve ever had any sort of eating disorder if you don’t want to be triggered.
