I spent the whole book clinging to the development of Miriam and Rachel, begging for Rachel to heal, and craving frozen yogurt. I love the insight into Rachel's thoughts, the way Broder writes. The detail that makes it easy to imagine every moment, which is something I usually struggle with.
A story that truly exemplifies the notion that some people are not meant to be in our lives forever, and we are still able to - and should be - grateful for what they provide while they are here. The lessons they teach, the memories they create, and the person they shape us to be.

It is not a book for most people, in fact, I’d expect most people to find it gross, meaningless, cringe (?). But oh did I enjoy being so seen by a woman I’ll never know.

The beginning of the book felt, at times, like reading an early 2010s Tumblr user's ed blog, calorie diary and all. This is of course only the starting point for some... interesting developments... but it's pretty intense nevertheless. Once you get through that, you're in for the WLW romance, mommy issues, and an interesting perspective on navigating queerness and politics from within an Orthodox Jewish family environment.
Physically I was on a train while listening, but emotionally I was on a rollercoaster.
