The last two books have been predictable, this one was extremely predictable as far as the crime goes, but the mystery was largely overshadowed by the personal goings on. I enjoyed it, but I hope if Osman comes back to the series he finds a better balance. I adore all the characters and the web of relationships and it’s all very endearing but there’s got to be a bit more balance between a quality mystery and these loveable scamps.

Goodness me, Richard, you magnificent man, you’ve bloody done it again!
Absolute perfection, naturally, couldn’t put it down
It was the perfect wrap-up, but not in a cringe way where everything is tied in a neat little bow
I did really struggle with the dementia plot line, probably cried harder than I think I’ve cried at any media at all, but that’s to be expected, and it was an appropriate and important plot piece

I love the way these books make me feel tbh, they make me feel excited to live for 80+ years and to know excitement, joy and love is going to be there at every age. I love that they also make you appreciate the little things in life through the characters, while also being fantastically brilliant and ridiculous books

Very sad to say goodbye to Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim, Ron and of course, Alan for the last time

I wouldn’t say no to some prequels but in being greedy
