I have talked to educators who don't want or encourage the buddy bench because they see it as a way for kids to feel shame. I like that this book gives positive reasons for the bench, talks about how it's not just for new kids (or kids without established friendships.) I think if the adults feel negatively about buddy benches, it will trickle down to the kids. A book like this might help start the positive conversations about the buddy bench.
