I actually really enjoyed this book and I’m happy I accidentally went into it blind (whatever sci-fi shit I thought it was gonna be it was not). I like the reflective-esk storyline. I appreciated the realistic characters with flaws and growth. Had a lot going on but in a real life way.

I loved this book as someone who was obsessed with games at one point and wanted start a company and make games with my friend this book was like as if they looked inside my brain. Going into this book I had high hopes and it dis not disappoint for the most part.
I didnot like the part of the pioneers

I hated dov and how it necessary
for sadie to go back to him
I personally think that ending could have been better for both sadie and sam.

It had a good pace and nice focus on a special, deep friendship. It is not the most realistic story out there, but it does not have to be. Felt influenced by Normal People (Sally Rooney) and A little life (Hanya Yanagihara), but still keeping love and overcoming challenges at the heart of the story, rather than digging a deep hole of misery. Easy to read, not earthshatteringly unique or fascinating in terms of story and language, but still captivating.

This book was so interesting and riveting and even funny when it explored identity development and the creative process of video game making. It lulled for me when the character Sadie
lacked character development and accountability, even through the end of the book.
the other characters Sam and Marx and others were really lovely normal people to learn about their lives and experience their emotions with them. This was a character driven book with little plot, just following this trio over the course of maybe 15 years. I kept getting recommended it but I don’t think it’s as good as people say.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It feels like a modern story that deals with so many cultural issues in such good and enlightening ways. It reads like a John Green novel for an older audience. Even when I wanted to scream at the characters to "Just talk to each other!" they were still endearing, and I was enraptured by the story. I read this book in basically a single sitting, it that's any indication of how much I liked it. I will forgive it it's slightly inaccurate depictions of MIT on account of being a book I would be happy to reread.

This book had a great analysis of the different characters and their relationships. The key dynamics were interesting but strained for the majority of the book. This unfortunately left me feeling sad, disappointed, and a bit heartbroken upon finishing the book. I have an appreciation for how realistic the characters, their relationships, and their stories are. They just hurt a bit kinda how life hurts.
