⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ BETTER THE SECOND TIME AROUND

This was definitely better the second time around. On the reread, I found myself understanding the characters more deeply and really appreciating their development. While the pacing dragged in places and it did suffer a bit from that “second book syndrome,” it still delivered a solid continuation of the story. Overall, it was a good read that set up the series nicely and made me even more excited for what’s to come.

Great follow up to the first book. The only thing that threw me ************SPOILERS**********is the whole story is supposed to be about the Midas legend and then randomly Fae appear and it felt extremely jolting. Like now it’s not in that kind of Greek mythology feel but a faerie based realm. It’s still good I just wish Fae had been mentioned even ONCE before suddenly throwing a MMC fae prince in and everyone acts like “yeah we’ve definitely been afraid of fae more than anything else in our whole lives” like I wasn’t even aware this was a world that had Fae? And our FMC realization of it all is so cringey. I almost stopped. Once we moved past that awkward random scene it continued as a solid story but damn
