I think the premise of having dinosaurs in a zoo setting offers a fresh perspective that we don't usually see in dino-media. The dinosaurs are not overly aggressive, but they remain dangerous and are highlighted to still be wild creatures. It really makes the dinosaurs resemble our modern animals more, which makes them seem more real and lifelike to me.
I really enjoyed how later, the manga questions what the relationship should look like between humans and dinosaurs. Is breeding, and genetically engineering dinosaurs, ethical? Was not expecting to think about that when I picked up this book.
The main character is a typical optimistic and clumsy archetype, but there is potential for change and growth. The cast of other characters steadily expands as the series goes on and I'm finding myself enjoying getting to know them.
The only big flaw for me is that the artwork is not as good as most other manga, imo. The anatomy looks a bit off a lot of the time, and poses/expressions tend to look very stiff. It's not the worst, and it's definitely better than what I can draw, but I would go into this with lower expectations than one would for a very popular manga.
Moderate: Injury/Injury detail and Blood
Minor: Suicide, Medical content, Death, Death of parent, and Grief
There are some severe injuries and fatalities that are depicted, not in too much detail, but there is a fair amount of blood. Suicide is briefly mentioned in regards tosparky_lurkdragon's review

Between each chapter is a message from the research consultant that is fun to read.
Left on a cliffhanger, excited to read the next one!

Whilst I believe it does lean a little more on the 'slice-of-life' vibes rather than being chock-full of dinosaur action, I think that is just perfect for this book. Not to mention the concept- so refreshing to see that (although I love Jurassic Park, no shade!) the 'we brought dinosaurs back to life' trope isn't used here, but instead there had been an island where dinosaurs managed to live through their extinction event! Neat idea.
It also ends on a cliffhanger, and I'm really interested to see how this story will progress!
A great start from Itaru Kinoshita working together with Shin-ichi Fujiwara, PhD. You can tell just how much they enjoy working together in this book, it is wonderful!
