Whenever I read a @pepperbasham book I feel instantly transported to the first time I read Christy. It's amazing how you feel like you have gone back in time.
This book was especially interesting to me with the information about medicinal herbs and plants. Truthfully we could probably go back to that and it would serve us well...
I also really enjoyed the culture I experienced through the dancing, the music, the bartering of goods for services, and the quilting. It is all so interesting.
Basham is also great at introducing us to the lingo and I enjoyed reading about "sparking" 😉 between Jeb and Cora.
