I know this was written to be a horror story, but oh my GOD my audiobook narrator was so incredibly witty and funny in his reading! Shoutout to Steven Parker Audiobooks on YouTube, I will definitely be looking into his other videos in the future.
Other than my colorful narrative voice, I found this book to be equally interesting to me as War of the Worlds. H.G. Wells is very good at not wasting time, and the whole plot moved efficiently without feeling rushed. I also found it interesting to make connections with this story in particular and many modern horror stories, The Human Centipede for example. In both, there is a depraved medical man hell bent on creating with his own hands the next step in human form. Wells hit on this theme of science warped beyond recognition more than a hundred years earlier!
The Time Machine may be my next audiobook to listen to during work...

man, prendick would’ve been canceled on twitter so many fucking times, it was an interesting premise, but it didn’t go as far as it could’ve, if prendick hadn’t been such a racist, mysoginist, classist i think he wouldve made a better protagonist, but as it is he just let everything happen to him, i was kinda endeared to the beasts even if he wasn’t, because how could moreau do that to any of them and bot feel an ounce pf remorse, but after he’s killed prendick doesn’t eveb question it and keeps preaching his word, kinda weird kinda cultish, but it was fine otherwise, now i wanna read the invisible man by wells, because he has got great storytelling ideas
