This book was frightening, but well written. I picked it up on audio because i want to read more classic books, but I wasn't prepared for this allegorical genre.

Super exciting premise- shipwrecked man ends up on an island with crazy creatures all along the spectrum of part human and part animal, some more "beastly" than others. While I recognize that it was one of the first books in the science fiction genre, I can't say I'd recommend it to anyone. The way it ended left much to be desired; however, I see why this book has been adapted and referenced so often in movies and shows. It's always fun seeing how people in the past predict the future of science and technology, so I'll probably end up reading another H.G. Wells book in the future.
