I loved this short little book. Very fascinating plot. Sci-fi horror, with questions about morality. At what point do animals become human, worthy of compassion. Since they’re animals was what Moreau was doing fine, even if he was torturing and flaying them for weeks on end? No animal abuse laws during this time. Poor Prendick, traumatized, seeing humans as animals when he comes back - we all have the same instincts, hunger, rage. I liked that the book was short and to the point, not dragged out. The most amount of dialogue was Moreau’s explanation of his work.

3 Stars

The main story was interesting, but the overly descriptive plot was mind-numbing. I swear, the same entities/oddities were described in detail, more than once and twice as long.
