⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5/5)
Satan’s Affair by H.D. Carlton was one wild, twisted ride—and I enjoyed every blood-soaked page of it. Sibby is insane in the most entertaining way. She gave me major Harley Quinn vibes with her chaotic energy, unhinged thoughts, and gleeful love for mayhem. Honestly, I was living for her narration.
The carnival setting added a gritty, eerie atmosphere that made the whole story feel like a fever dream—and I mean that in the best way. It’s definitely not your typical romance, and it’s more about the psychological, the gruesome, and the twisted than any love story. But for what it is, it delivers.
That said, there were parts that felt a little repetitive, and while I loved Sibby, I didn’t always feel connected to the pacing or plot outside of her. Still, for fans of dark, disturbed heroines and serial killer chaos, this is a fun (and freaky) little horror treat.
Perfect if you like your main characters bloody, bold, and batshit.

Satan's Affair, unfortunately, did not meet my expectations. While Sibby's storyline initially showed promise, it soon became clear that the narrative lacked depth and coherence. The plot felt disjointed and failed to sustain my interest, leaving me wishing I had chosen a more compelling read. Despite my previous admiration for HD Carlton’s work, this book did not resonate as hoped, and I find myself regretting the time invested in it.

*Haven’t started Cat & Mouse series, started with Satan’s Affair as recommended by H D Carlton*
It took me a little while to get into Satan’s Affair and understand how in the world this might connect with Cat & Mouse but once I got into it, I whizzed through it. I’d say it took me around 35-40% of the way through to get to this point.
Good book, be sure to read the trigger warnings as H D ain’t lying with these

WTF did I just read? This is probaby the worst book I've ever read. It didn't have any plot. And, if you have read Haunting Adeline, you already knew about the Henchmen so it was just...weird.
I loved Haunting Adeline and Hunting Adeline. I didn't like Where's Molly but my friend gave me this and I figured.... 144 pages, I can do it in a day so if it sucks, I'm not out much time. If it were longer, I would have DNFd at page 20 (I have never DNFd a book!). The first six pages had her killing a man, dry humping him until climax and then getting railed by multiple men after? It was just too much. Just murder and kinky, blood covered sex. Literally 144 pages of just that.

I enjoyed this book immensely. It is short, a novella I believe it is called. It is +18 with very mature content. Graphic depictions of intercourse and murder. You basically are following the story of a young woman serial killer and her henchmen as she murders her way across the U.S. in a haunted carnival called Satan's Affair. I enjoyed it I believe because I have a love for an unhinged female main character and how more messed up can you get with a serial killer woman? I think it is well written and easily consumable as long as you don't mind graphic descriptions of violence.
