I read this book over a year ago, so this review will probably be quite short.
This edition has book 1, 2 and 3 of the Kissed by an Angel series in. I am starting book 4 today so thought I would write a quick review of my thought on the first 3 books in the series. I am going to count all 3 as 1 book though because that's how it felt when I was reading it.

Ivy is devastates when her boyfriend Tristan, the love of her life suddenly dies. She doesn't know how to cope without him. She has always believed that angels watched over everyone but now she's not so sure. If angels watched over everyone why would they take Tristan away from her?
Tristan is sent back to earth as Ivy's guardian angel. She is grave danger and she has no idea how close the threat to her life actually is. As she tries to live her life unaware of the danger she is in Tristan must try to save her. But if he does he'll be sent back, is he ready to let her go?

I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was such a great love story. At the beginning when Tristan dies I wasn't sad or anything as I expected it. I didn't know the character that well so I couldn't get emotional about it. What I didn't count on was the author going back and re-telling the story of how he and Ivy met, how they fell in love and how perfect their relationship was. I knew exactly what was going to happen and I really didn't want it to happen and ended up sobbing like a baby.
I started to love Will. He is such a sweet character and all he wanted was to help Ivy through Tristan's death and was always there for her.
I was completely shocked to find out who the threat was. I did not see that coming at all. Usually in book I can guess what's going to happen but I was completely shocked and it took me completely by surprise.
Elizabeth Chandler did a great job sucking you into the story and I became so attached to the characters. It's a great love story and I honestly think that the story should stop here. It's a great ending and I was so happy with it.
However I can't wait to read book 4 and am really looking forward to seeing what's going to happen next.

I read this when I was quite young and remember being rather moved; I don't think it would have that effect now, but I've rated it as I remember experiencing it.

I've never really tried romance books, so I decided to give it a go. I made it about 200 pages (this is close to 700) in before I gave up. I was immensely turned off by how 1) the dude says "I love you" like two months of dating the main character, and 2) how this fell into the trope of "I like her bc she doesn't know I exist and she's introspective." I understand that when teenagers say I love you, of course it doesn't have the same history to it as adults because we've loved and had our hearts broken numerous of times before. But for teenagers, what they feel *is* love because it's what they know it to be. I'm not invalidating their feelings. I'm sure many of our first loves were in HS. But for the Tristen to say I love you, TWO MONTHS into a relationship, when he's supposedly been popular among the ladies since 5th grade....um...no.

I also understand these books were written in the 90s so obviously they're gonna fall into cringe and anti-feminist ("good" woman are those who are down-to-earth, don't seek attention, "different," don't pay mind to the status quo, etc) tropes more people speak against than several decades earlier. Doesn't mean I have to force myself to make an excuse for a book and force myself to read it. Things do age poorly, y'know.

I really wanted to like this book since I'm a hopeless romantic myself, but I just couldn't.

I just finished reading this book to refresh my memory of it so I could read th rest of the series. It reminded me why I read it in the first place. There is slot of thrill, passion, danger and love in this book. It keeps you on your toes and pulls at your heart strings.

Overall, I'd give the 3 books a 3.5

Book #1 would be more of a 2.5

Book #2 would be a 4

and Book #3 would be a 3.5

I'll be honest, at first i couldn't really get into it. I don't know why. It started to get better around the time Will was in it more ;) I don't kno why but i didn't particularly like Tristen all that much. i found him kind of annoying. I loved the fact that for ages you have no idea who did what and the time when you don't really trust anyone. I absolutely HATE Gregory. He's such a dick (putting it lightly) i can't believe he killed Ella and hurt her before that. I can't believe he would do all he did for money. It was sad with the whole Tristen dying thing and how sad Ivy was and how she stopped believing in angels for a while. It was weird how Lacey ended up being in love with Tristen and everything. I really likd Lacey. She was amusing. It was pretty sad at the end when Tristen left :/ I'm so extremely happy that Ivy and Will ended up together in the end (:

I aqcuired this book a long time ago, and for a 13-15 year old I would probably rate it higher. But since I'm quite a bit older now, I only give it 2 stars. I think the characters are very relatable and realistic. It's written for a young audience and for that it most definitely serves its purpose.

It was ok... but it went soooo slow. For me, anyway.
