Meh. Maybe it was all the hype but I had higher expectations for this book than what I got. It was boring and dragging in places, the was in hyper speed in others. So many names. I would have to go back pages to figure out how that person played in to the story. I am glad I finished it, and for that matter I’m glad I read it. But it was very mediocre.

It was good. I enjoyed the characters and the journey to discover Owen’s disappearance and history. It just wasn’t the jaw-dropping type of mystery that I’d hoped it would be.

Giving 3 stars is a stretch, but we can't do half so I'll round up. The beginning really gripped me, and I was all set to be on an epic ride...but it just fizzled in the end.

Beautiful. Almost made me cry at least twice.
I love that it's 'modern' with real scenarios that people have actually gone through. AND makes us ask questions that are real life possibilities ... how would I handle this situation?
It doesn't have a traditional happy ending which I appreciate. I also really like that it's fast paced.
I'm just so pleasantly surprised by this book. I absolutely would recommend, at a minimum of to new readers. (If you prefer Stephen King style in depth and descriptive writing, this probably isn't for you.)
