Love me some Nicholas Sparks! It was a quick read, and a good story. It never ceases to amaze me that a GUY writes such terrific "chick stories".

A marine finds a picture of a girl that becomes a lucky charm for him and his friend throughout the war. After returning home he decides to track down the girl in the photo. This is a story about destiny and love.

Albeit a little predictable (I was not expecting it not to be), the book was a quick & easy read. Great beach book, for sure. Not outstanding literature, by any means, just an easy summer read IMO.

Ok so I'm not a Zac Efron fan at all but he honestly looked really great in the trailer for this movie. Ridiculous reason I know to read a book but whatever. The book was fine for what it is. However it and it's chracters were so very predictable that I just wanted to get it over with. The characters were very cliche. I probably will still watch the movie when it comes on video though. Oh also I read via an audibook and I thought the narrator took away from the story. His voice for the son and Beth were not convincing.

Oh Nicholas Sparks- I used to like you. Message in a Bottle, A Bend in the Road you are some of my favorite books I ever read. I gave this book a try because I was waiting for some books to come available at the library. I have taken a LONG break from NS books and while the beginning gave me hope this book is not good. I thought this would be the book that would be different but it went down the same path eventually. And of course there was a storm and of course someone died. It was all so NS predictable.

What I really want is a NS book in which the characters do not fall in love withint 24 hours of meeting each other. I also want him to drop his plot formula and come up with a different flow.

Listened to the audio book.

How could it not be a good story if there's a trusty German Shepard involved?
