It was a good story, mystery and surprise ending. Of course, the ending was telegraphed when the story seemed to wrap up too early in the book, but at least it was somewhat unexpected. There were hints throughout the story that came together at the end. There are also hints of future stories, in a good way. A complete and standalone story.

In this sequel to Find Me, Reni and Daniel work together to find some missing hikers after a murder is discovered on the PCT. The setting is forested mountains though it's still in the Inland Empire (I think, though I'm not familiar with California geography). We still get some desert settings, and I mention the settings because they are such an integral part of Ms. Frasier's books.
The mystery here is good though a bit predictable, but we also have the leftover story of what happened to Daniel's mother from the first book. I'm not sure if there will be another book in the series, but I would like to see more of Reni and Daniel.

I wasn't compelled by the story or the characters and stopped reading half way through. Too many convenient plot turns and characters that fell flat.

I am a fan of this author and other series written by her have become favorites. This may be a case of its me not you.

⭐⭐ -- Disappointing sequel

I had such high hopes for this one. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but this one was just...bad. It was slow. Predictable. The plot was all over the place. I even found Reni to be annoying and self-absorbed...sigh. It is what it is. I am still onboard to give this series another try. So

A very wholesome mystery - Tell Me has got it all. Excellent setting, an intriguing plot, interesting characters and writing that ties it all together.
Absolutely riveting read.
