Definitely not one of my favourites by this author. About half way I could see where this story was going and from then on it dragged quite a bit.

I figured out the twist almost immediately, which diminished the novel's suspense. Many parts felt unnecessarily drawn out, and the story could have been tighter and more engaging if it were shorter by a third. None of the characters resonated with me, but I can overlook that if they're well-developed. Unfortunately, the friends, family, and side characters lacked depth, making the plot feel cliché.

The main male character was insufferable, leaving me indifferent to his fate. The twins' parents were oddly portrayed and one-dimensional.

While the writing itself wasn't bad and kept me reading, it was more out of a desire to confirm my suspicions than genuine interest in the plot. In the end, the book left me feeling underwhelmed.

A solid story with a twist that, though I saw coming, was interested to see how the reveal would come about. Story-wise, I could done without the few chapters from
Pamela's point of view. I get that the author wanted Nick's family's point of view and suspicion raised, but that felt achieved through Rachel's appearances

DID NOT FINISH

I skimmed to the end so I know what happened, but this was such a slow burn for me that I just couldn’t do it. I knew something was going to happen, but I was too impatient to wait for it to. I just got annoyed by the characters on every page.

My god this was such a wild ride from beginning to end. A story involving twins one who prefers to follow her own path without feeling the need to mold herself to fit the standards of others. The other who just wants to be loved and not inconvenience others at all even if it means sacrificing her needs. Anna is the sweet responsible twin and Zoe is the carefree fun-loving twin, even though they have different personalities they are still quite close. While Anna lives in London her sister Zoe lives in the States, they still keep in touch constantly calling each other and keeping updated on what they are doing. Anna wants to fall in love and marriage as she feels lonely and thinks that she's at the age where she should already be in a relationship and starting a family ( just like so many of her friends/acquaintances). After much consideration, she decides to give online dating a shot though Zoe thinks that's not such a great idea, while discussing her profile with her sister Anna decides to lie about her age, and there's a secret she's hiding as well. She matches with Nick who isn't looking for anything serious at first but he slowly starts to fall for Anna. Their relationship progresses rather quickly after that and Zoe is not happy at all and finds it quite suspicious. Anna then invites Zoe to come meet Nick. From there so many things happen, there's betrayal, secrets, and quite a few twists until the end. You get somewhat an idea of how things will turn out from the beginning but things are not quite as they seem.

Thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for allowing me to read this ARC!

Anna and Zoe are identical twins, but their appearance is the only thing that is the same. Anna lives in the UK, is introverted, thoughtful, romantic and a bit naive. Zoe lives in the States, and lives an extreme and dangerous lifestyle.

Anna decides to try out the dating apps to see if she can find her person. A few tiny white lies sprinkled in her dating profile lead her to Nick, who is also not very forthcoming with his actual intentions. Nick is an investment banker and is immediately drawn to Anna for reasons he cannot explain, despite his usual MO of wine, dine, and bail. Anna falls quickly for Nick and tells Zoe all about him. Zoe thinks that Nick is a liar, and decides to try and prove that he will break Anna's heart.

The ending of this book was great! I cannot wait to watch the movie to see the ending change.

4 out of 5 stars.
