A lovely idea for a story, with captivating world building and likeable detailed characters. This was a quick easy read which whilst didn't have much of a plot, still took me on a journey. I very much want to understand more about how the department store actually works! As it is a translation I will say some wording felt clumsy.

There's not much of a plot here, but I think that might be a cultural difference in novel structures.
It was enjoyable, and I love the worldbuilding (even if the big cats chasing after naked sleeping humans was a little weird), but I'm not sure what the audience is meant to be. A lot of the issues the characters had would probably only appeal to adults but the writing feels very middle grade.

I love how thought provoking it is. Not only do we get the main character and her own story but the individual dreamers and dreams unlike how it all adds to the theme. It’s fantastic.

This book is almost all vibes, no plot, but in a very sweet and calming way. A few pages in, I started picturing it as though it were a Ghibli Studio animated film, and that made the entire thing 100% more endearing.
I wish the dreammakers names had been different, as they were really too much, but I can look past it.
And now I really want a Ghibli film made out of this! (With the few plot elements kicked up a bit to develop it and the characters a little more, and give the entire thing a more cohesive arc.)

this was incredibly fun. the world-buildling, the character - everything was so lovely and so vivid, i could imagine it all so clearly. the world pulls you in instantly and you want to be part of it for as long as you can. i cried so much at the last chapters, pulled at my heartstrings so well and hit every note. it was beautiful and wholesome and i can’t wait to read the next part
