This was a harrowing read

There's lots of plot holes from previous books that they added here that either adds to unreliable narrator or are forgotten during the series
But yeah, it's intense and a horrifically sad read

Okay… phew. My mind is all over the place and I am currently sobbing lol. I put off reading their story because I was an AVID Lizzie hater and I thought there was no way I’d be able to read her book without bias. Boy am I glad (actually depressed haha) that I finally got to it.

My poor Lizzie baby, I love her so deeply. Every. Single. Adult. Failed that precious little girl. Lizzie fought… is still fighting so hard and it’s dang near in secret bc she holds it all in. And you cannot even blame her; I mean I felt her rage, her anger, her pain. There are these moments where I wanted to scream “SAY SOMETHING LIZZIE ANYTHING” but she has no one in her corner. My precious Lizzie baby I just want to hold her and never let go.

Now Hugh… I don’t think I’ve read ANY book without an MMC that is so innately selfless and patient. There were so many times when I thought “Boy if you don’t leave her she is gonna make you go grey before puberty.” Hughie is probably my fav character of all of BOT, like he truly is such a man despite being in the throes of Lizzie Young.

I have so many thoughts and emotions toward these two… I truly don’t even know what I I’m going to do once I’m done typing this lol. I absolutely hate everything this book put me through. I mean seriously all of the BOT books are heartbreakingly addictive, but this one and these two characters definitely raised the bar. I cannot wait for the next. I need a Lizzie and Hughie happily ever after.
