I enjoyed Nora’s story once I got into it but it took until well past halfway through the book to really get invested but just never could get into Lurie’s story and overall found the book to be super slow and hard to convince myself to pick up or keep reading.

It took a while for me to get into, but it's now one of my 2020 favs (and one of the few that made me cry!)

Well written. You easily form an image of the characters and the landscape in your mind. Also a wonderful mix of the unknown exotic (camels in the US?) and the homegrown (homesteading in the Wild West) and ghosts. Need I say more?
