Idk like it was cute and the sex scenes were very hot I just wish maybe there’d been more non-sexy times between the main characters as well. Like it got to a point where I was like, “Damn again!” Might be a me problem.

Had high hopes for Herrera writing after reading A Caribbean Heiress in Paris, was a bit let down. While the sexual chemistry was there I felt that it took a while for the romance to develop because Alba felt no one could love her through the chaos of her life. Absolutely loved how down bad theo was the entire book though and I was glad they got their happy ending.

This is by far my favorite Adriana Herrera book. I love everything about it. Let me break down why I love this book.

✨ First Alba is a go-getter and I know the difficulty of being the person who feels like she has to pick up the pieces of her family, and has ambitions, and has compartments for every thing in her life. Last year when I read On the Hustle I did not appreciate Alba as much as I did this time around. I get her, I see her and I love all of her.

✨ You know what I am here to say 👀 THEO freaking GANAS, as soon as he gets on page he is already swoony AF. I love that this didn’t turn into billionaire gets with assistant. Even though he came across as grumpy, stoic and uninterested. Emmmmm wrong, he was more than interested in Alba 👀 The way that man shows up to show how much he loves Alba. OBSESSED. Simp of the century.

What are his qualities? Supportive, observant, loving, helpful, persistent, curious about her work and her ambitious, and willing to be her peace. He cooks too, so you know how much I love Theo. He is alsooo F.I.L.T.H.Y 😏 and the way he is obsessed with Alba’s 🍑 😂🤣 of course he annoying qualities that I found endearing, when he calls her like 100 different middle names that were not hers which would inevitably ruffle Alba’s feathers 😂

Now every time I listen to Safaera by Bad Bunny ft. Jowel & Randy I think of Theo😂 so you can say that On The Hustle is my Roman Empire and I think about it all the time🫡

Read if you enjoy and are ok with:
😡 Grumpy-grumpy MCs
🏣 Workplace romance (not boss/assistant)
♥️ Close proximity
🍿 Reality TV production drama!
🧡 Found Family
🌶️ Open door romance, 2+ scenes that are 🥵

Alba is a hard worker — and she’s finally quit her personal assistant job to embark on her own journey. After years of working with Theo, Alba is looking forward to calling the shots and expanding her home design company… but Theo isn’t quite done with her yet.

I started off on board with this novel. I loved how dedicated Alba was to her job, while she nurtured her real passions enough that she could let them take over. Once Alba moves, I started to lose interest in here. There was a lot of internal dialogue and not a lot of action.

Theo, on the other hand, went from boring and misunderstood, to generous and multi-dimensional. I just really wish that the Theo of the future had been more aligned with the Alba of the past.

The rest of the supporting characters were not memorable for me — although, I did like the relationship that Theo had with his Step-mother.

2.5 stars, rounded up. Thank you Harlequin and Netgalley for the chance to read this for an honest review.

In regards to the writing I think this was a good story. I have never thought about the role and responsibilities immigration child might have to take on in their family because they are more adaptable and learn languages more easily. Alba was painful relatable but a bit frustrating at times. While the spicy was good it sounded a bit corny at times and I think some of that might have been narration. As to the the audio both narrators did an amazing job with their individual parts and brought the characters to life in a very vivid way. But for me it backfired a bit because when they would have to narrator the other character it was such a noticeable difference that it threw me way off and sounded all wrong. Overall though it was a good story and I enjoyed it.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG.  I AM OBSESSED WITH THEO. I think I might faint while listening to their first time.

I legitimately took a break from reading to kick my feet and squeal. This book made me so freaking happy. It's so cute and so hot and so worth the read.
