The author did a wonderful job of steering clear from sensationalism with a true crime event that has been treated rather ghoulishly, having been added to ghost tours as an “attraction.” There was much respect for all parties involved and the underlying social and personal factors surrounding the murder, aftermath of the hurricanes, and veteran life.
