This was so thrilling. It had me on the edge of my seat from about 150 pages in until the end! I can‘t believe the way this story is going.

Reread 3rd march 2022

This time I listened partly to the audiobook. I must say, that magic that I felt the first time I read this wasn't entirely there this time. But I guess that's a thing that happens when you read it for the first time! I still really loved the story and the characters and I can't wait to start reading Obsidio again.

----------------------------------------------------------
I need the next book like now. This was so good oh boyyy

*clears throat*

THIS BOOK IS SO DAMN GOOD. IT HURTS AND I NEED THE FINAL PART NOWWWW

Okay now onto the real review without yelling in capslock. It was a bit of a switch as this book follows two other characters, Hanna and Nik, instead of Ezra and Kady that I finally began to love at the ending of the first book. Well, it took about 10-ish pages for them to steal my heart (that's much better than the 300 pages it took for Illuminae to finally grasp me). This book had a clear plot from the beginning and fewer infodumps! It kept me on the edge of my seat through the whole book, it even kept me from sleeping as I just had to finish it.

I did learn something about my own reading while reading this. I suck at names, I've known that for years now, but this was the first book where it really was a struggle for me. Some characters had 3 different names! And you learn their names through a sheet of pictures and names, well uhmmm needless to say that I forgot 90% of the names. I think that I actually need to reread it again to see what things I missed. I do think that this wasn't the book's fault, but more a problem of my own. If you are bad at names, just like me, then I would recommend you to keep a little paper with all the names nearby while reading this.

The also downside to this book was that there were some similarities between the plot of book 1 and this book. It was still exciting and surprising, but looking back at it, it was a downer that they used a certain plot point two times.

This book still gets 5 shining stars, just because I enjoyed it so much and made me feel so many emotions at the same time!

*4.5

She does not evaluate the book as a really, really bad book, but not a great book. In fact Gemina did not affect me. Not like Illuminate after what I read. Just come and gone and I am quite sorry, because I think it could be better...

I said, it will not be positive, but again not to say that the book is horrible. There are just part where you say * no. That's just not. And no *

And then there are parts that have to laugh, cry and just where I see Illuminate.

So I just do not know how to feel abou book.

One of the things is that the characters didn't take big place in my heart . And I'm sorry. I felt nothing for them (yeah maybe I was crying, but because of the circumstances and all that. I'm just sorry.) Nothing. Just nothing. Not like Kady and Ezra. They literally rooted to my heart and dare to say even a whisper something against them !! Well, you know what I mean. They just did not get much place in my heart.

Then we move to the storyline ...
Well, the first 150 pages ... I understand it somehow, "we get to the story," but as for me Illuminae caught more. ((And wait. Drugs? Really? Btw it's not a spoiler it's nothing drastic main in story, but still.)) Then it started moving but a resource book I really liked. It was interesting, as I said, this was the part where I said "Yeah, it's just second part of Illuminae."

And then came the end of ((the last 150 pages...?)) I think ot did not have to be "so complicated."
As written in the description "could lead to disruption of the space-time continuum and burst into two parts."
I just disagreed with. I don't like it. No really. I'm also quite disappointed, because the end I was forced to read a bit. This would simply not work. Now I do not know how many pages ((about 30?)), But there it was described. Twice the one and same description. Maybe with a few changes. Seriously? Not this just would not work. The end simply do not. And no. Not for me.

But then I admit that last 10 (?) pages were good and serious like that yeah it did.

So I do not know. I just can not tell if I Gemina liked it or not. I do it just to not feel anything and I'm sorry. I'm not saying I regret that I read it. Not that! But my advice is:

"Rent it better at the library or from a friend and then after buy if you liked it."

Because the book is not really bad, but not as good as the Illuminae.

Gemina really didn't disappoint after Illuminae! The action, the suspense, the characters, all of it held up.

There are a few details that felt a bit contrived, some plot points that felt very out of place, maybe overall the charm of book one is starting to wear off. That being said, my misgivings definitely won't keep me from reading book three!!

Honestly, this audiobook experience is amazing and I highly recommend experiencing the books this way because they are amazing.

3.5 Stars. I think I liked the first one better. It's definitely fun to read this along with listening to the audio bc of the mixed media. The audiobooks r fantastic but you love some of the format if you aren't looking at it at the same time. I loved Hanna and I loved Nik.

Better than the first one
