This was my first audiobook - I'm recovering from surgery & not following along too well w.reading, so I borrowed the Audiobook from my library while reading along in my personal copy. It's only convinced me I need to read Obsidio the same way, & reread Illumnae with the audio.

"Pauchok: poor cow cows :("

The irony of rereading & relistening while recovering from surgery 😂

"IT IS LIKE A WOMB, I SUPPOSE. < ERROR > A WOMB WHERE THINGS GO TO DIE."

Oh, no 😬 Someone maybe ruined Nik for me... Still love MacLeod Andrew's voice though.

"I ADMIRE THE PRECISION. ALMOST MACHINE-LIKE. I WOULD SAY INHUMAN, BUT YOUR KIND PERFECTED THE CLOCKWORK OF MURDER LONG AGO."

Representation: Disabled supportive character (paralyzed, in a wheelchair, with assisted oxygen)

why’d they make these men so charming

The story is ok, but the real winner here is the creative way the authors tell the story. Part chat logs, part hand written journals, part surveillance footage; the pages of this book are so unique. Even the audio book reflects the interesting storytelling with multiple voices and sound effects.

Another wild ride, I definitely enjoyed this one more than the first book.
Also I'm completely blindsided by the plot twists (especially regarding Sam, didn't see that coming at all), nice work authors.
