A nice, bloody horror novel. The only thing I found a little unsatisfactory was the reason the people gave for the murders. It seemed like a Very Extreme reaction to what the kids had done, especially for so many people to get behind. If it had been three or four people, it would have been more believable. But it was spooky and well written, and I really enjoyed the relationship that was at the end. I liked the characters who survived and I’m really afraid for them now that there’s another book coming!

A very fun slasher with fresh social commentary and a lot of gory murder.
It also played with tropes which made it unique and surprising even though the story itself wasn't.

Fun slasher! Some twists I expected, some I genuinely didn’t. Already requested the sequel from the library!

This was such a fun read. I didn't really know what to expect, but I was so invested! The author does a phenomenal job translating a slasher horror story onto paper. It was fast paced, gory, and filled with action. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering where each twist would lead next.

I'm a sucker for the "small town"/"group of kids trying to survive a horrorfest" trope -- add in cornfields and clowns? Even better.

The motive behind the slaughter is ... pretty silly. A town full of boomers that take the whole "your generation ruins everything" commentary too far. But hey, I've seen horror movies with stranger plots. This was absolutely worth the read and I'd recommend it to any horror fan.

Rust was also my favorite character, had to give him a mention. If I am ever in a cornfield being chased by homicidal clowns, I want him on my team.
