3.5 - really cute at parts, but the hero was too much of a butthead and the end's super sappy for a funny character.

its weird i started off really loving this, then at like 60% i was over it. I liked both characters at first, then they both became insufferable. he was a jerk until the end, and she was delusional til the end. overall i liked the book, but i really wish the ending, last 20% at least was a little different. i think it felt romantic until they had sex for the first time. then i was like 'oh, this isnt what i wanted' and it went downhill from there because it didnt 'improve' until the final chapter lol. im not even that interested in book two because the sister was... annoying to say the least (very self absorbed and an awful friend lmao)but maybe.
So far, so good. Didn't read this in order, but that's okay
And the end of the year ends with a sweet romance, so sweet that my teeth ache! 😂
I loved parts of the book, especially the character of Miranda. And other parts of the book annoyed me. The whole, “Why don’t you love me?” plot was a bit much. The book could have been about 70 pages less and got a better rating from me.
I’ll still continue with the series though because I’m sure there will be a story about Olivia and I’m looking forward to that book!

I loved this book. I love the Bridgerton series, and it was great to read this spin off. I will definitely continue on with this series. The audible narration was pretty good except for when the narrator did the voice of Nigel/Turner.
At 10 years old, Miranda Cheever falls in love with Nigel Bevelstoke, Viscount Turner, the older brother of her best friend Olivia because he is nice to her once and begins keeping a journal because he tells her too. Nine years later, Miranda is being presented to society and Nigel, who prefers to be called Turner, is hardened by marriage to a cheating spouse but is now widowed. She is still in love with him and he begins to notice her.
I have to say I didn't really like this book. Both of the main characters are kind of infuriating. Miranda is fine but I don't understand why she's in love with Turner. He spends most of the book being a jerk to her. I also got frustrated that neither of them communicates with the other, which would solve some of their problems. There are some scenes that are enjoyable but, overall, the book is meh.
