"puss" is a dumb term of endearment and the entire plot was Turner being a complete jerk to Miranda and her pathetically pining after him.
Terrible. The guy is a sexist, misogynistic, abusing @**hole. She is absolutely ridiculous. '10 Things I love about you' is the only book in this trilogy worth reading. The whole 'The Duke and I' series is SO much better. Don't kill off any brain cells or waste time reading this one.

I thought this was going to be my favorite Julia Quinn novel, I love Miranda, and I did love Turner at first... but his emotional constipation and selfishness was too much. It would have been more compelling if Miranda had made him Court her properly before they married and address his trauma/issues instead of giving in to the pressure to marry him so fast. She should have said I'll only marry you if... Like seriously he couldn't get over himself until she gave birth after weeks of silent treatment and then almost died? Eff you Turner, you do not deserve her and she forgave you too easily every single time. especially after the first kiss... that was definetly harassment and could be considered assault
Also the way he was so dismissive in that one scene when she inquired about a writing on women's suffrage... Eff you

Ive read almost all of the Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn and this is definitely one of my top 3. The ending seemed overtly obvious from the beginning but some twists in the middle definitely make you question yourself for a tick. Couple of things that I didnt love were the narrator and the last romantic scenes after they were married. Don’t get me wrong- I love smut lol but they seemed out of place and disrupted the story’s progression like they were thrown in as an after thought. Other than that though it was a compelling a cute romance story!
