I picked this up thinking it would be a quick, mindless thriller, but it surprised me with more emotional and psychological depth than I expected. One of the most interesting aspects was the way it explored the spectrum between bully and victim—not as two distinct roles, but as points we can all move between depending on circumstance, intention, and perspective. The book doesn’t excuse harmful behavior, but it does complicate it in a way that made me think more deeply about my own past and how easy it can be to slip into either role. I wasn’t expecting to reflect on myself as much as I did, and I appreciated that nuance.

That said, the book stumbles when it comes to the legal side of the story. A quick Google search could have gone a long way—the inaccuracies around how the system works were distracting and pulled me out of what was otherwise a well-told and engaging narrative. Still, it kept me turning pages, and I finished it feeling both unsettled and really, really glad to be done with high school.

YA thrillers have my whole heart, I love that the stakes are high but never too high. This was such a rollercoaster of a book!!!! I could not stop reading!!! I loved the nods to Mean Girls (intentional or not) and watching the group try to get to the bottom of who may be haunting them! The snippets of the Thrashers having a regular senior year and the drama and dynamics that come with that were sprinkled in at just the right spots!!

This was a fun, fast read and I loved second guessing each character's motivations. I stayed curious throughout the story and always wondered what direction things would go in.
