I listened to it super quickly, so it was interesting. Good twists but wasn't anything mind blowing.

What a complicated YA novel!

It doesn't follow any other YA that I've read. The characters here were complicated and really flawed. At times they were plain unlikable.  But that's what I like in books, characters that make it hard for you to root for but you also kinda root for.

Our main character is Jodi, who's in the elite group called The Thrashers. Named after Zach Thrasher, Jodi's childhood best friend. And the reason she's in the group. The others, Julian, Lucy, and Paige, are all rich.

The story starts after a former clinger on, Emily Mills dies. And her journal reveals the cruelty of the Thrashers and points in their direction as being the cause of Emily's death.

This causes the fractions in the Thrashers to come to life. There's always been a sense of competition for Zachs attention. He's the "golden boy" who they all flock to. He's also the one who inadvertently causes the competition between the group.

They are insurable, and you really want the truth to win out. Are they responsible for Emily? Is she tormenting them from beyond?

I really enjoyed this book! I listened to it on audio and the narrators did a wonderful job!

This book follows Jodi Dillon, who is apart of "the Thrashers", what everyone calls her friend group. This group of five teenagers are the clique that everyone wants to be a part of. But now a girl has died and her journal implicates the Thrashers. It seems that this girl seems to be haunting the fantastic five. Or could it be a coincidence that the lights flash, dreams are nightmares and anonymous texts are incoming?

This was a fun read. It definitely will bring back to your high school cliques. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing. It definitely made me thankful to be out of high school. It is very bingeable. If you are a fan of the Heathers movie or the show Pretty Little Liars, then you will love this book! . The characters are morally grey (some are even more black then gray). The story is fast-paced with twists and turns and full of tension. There is definitely YA thriller vibes. While I did enjoy this book and the ending, I would have liked a little more clarity in regards to some of the reveals.

Eva Kaminsky and Jesse Vilinsky were amazing on audio. I definitely recommend the audio for this one!

Read if you like:
-YA thrillers
-Pretty Little Liar/Heathers vibes
-DRAMA
-Paranormal
-Bullying

Thank you @macmillan.audio for the #gifted copy.

Surprisingly good, I didn't expect it. It's been a while since I enjoyed a YA book this much, I breezed through it. A bit disappointed at the end,
I didn't like that only Julian got punished when Zack was the one who messed up. The paranormal aspect surprised me, also. I was convinced that it was a misdirect.

I devoured this book! As an avid fan of Pretty Little Liars, this was such a great homage. The twists and turns made me feel like I was also complicit in this case. Crazy ride and I think the ending was perfect without it being so happily ever after.

Honestly not sure what to think or rate this. The epilogue has totally thrown me off.
