Oh. My. Gosh. Genuinely, I think Julie Soto is one of the most talented authors I have read from in years. The way she captured insecurity in this book blew my mind. So real. This book kept me on my toes and the ending had me screaming. Just so so good.

I just finished this on my commute and I’m internally screaming JULIE SOTO WHATTTTT???? where is the rest of it? I’m gonna SOB??? WHATTTTTTT.

Phenomenal story telling. Wow. But seriously I’m gonna go to work lock myself in the bathroom and cry because that epilogue??? oh I’m unwell-

Please don’t read ahead, as there will be spoilers.

That ending broke my heart. I know what Julian did was not right but the fact that he got it worse? There should’ve been house arrest or something for Zack. I can’t stand that man. UGHHHHH. And Paige? wtf? That was not cool at all. Oh God I’m so torn about this book, I’m actually gonna be sick. If there isn’t a sequel I might kill myself. Because wtf???? oh Gods…

Thank you MacMillan Audio for the Audiobook, Eva Kaminsky and Jesse Vilinsky did phenomenally and I was hooked.

Thank you St. Martin’s Press/Wednesday book for the digital arc. I hope you all send me the physical one because I think this might be my entire personality for the foreseeable future

This book reignited my love of YA thrillers. I loved series like a Good Girls Guide to Murder and One of Us is Lying but for some reason I haven’t read the genre in a long time, but after reading this I remembered what I loved about the genre and have picked it up again.

Jodi is part of a group called the Thrasher, five friends focused around Zach Thrasher. When Emily wants to join the group but ends up taking her own life suddenly the police are looking at the five friends to see if bullying played a part in her suicide.

This book is twisty with an interesting paranormal element and a compelling mystery. I don’t usually enjoy paranormal in thrillers but this didn’t feel like the focus of the story and it worked so seamlessly that I found myself really enjoying it.

This is twisty and mysterious, and I sympathized with Jodi and her insecurities as well as her determination. This is fast paced and I love that you never know who to trust or where the story is going.

I really, really liked this, I liked the portrayal of their friendship with its Ups and Downs, I liked how the characters all were flawed, I liked the supernatural elements and the way the story was told. I don't like that the book ended, I feel hungover and I want more, I want a sequel, I need a sequel. (Even though I thought the ending was great, but still!)

Solid thriller. Soto pays homage to teen thriller media like The Heathers and Pretty Little Liars. The characters were multidimensional and felt like real people

Thrashers is one of those books that I enjoyed so much that the review is going to be short and to the point because quite honestly, I will probably be recommending this book to everyone.

The Thrashers are a group of privileged high school friends with one exception, Jodi. The Thrashers though are the IT group; you want to be them and would give anything, including your life to be a part of them. Emily Mills did exactly that, she gave her life. The Thrashers takes place after Emily Mills takes her life, and the lives and relationships of this friend group starts to unravel as Emily's journal comes to light.

Just go grab a copy and read this book. It kept me on my toes and guessing up to the very last page. The ending had me screaming (internally as it was late at night), and I wanted to throw my phone across the room at how perfect it all came to a close. I will have to say that the ending was semi predictable in the way that there had to be something more about the one character and their relationship with Emily (there were just dropped hints all over the place). And Jodi... Jodi, why do have to be so emo? Trauma. Yeah... she has a lot of trauma. But the dynamic of the group is just nuts when actually spelled out to Jodi who only sees it from her very narrow minded view. And LOVE LOVE LOVE the little paranormal inserts. Chills. Literal chills were had.

5 stars. Enough said. Read the ARC, but will be buying a physical copy. Will live eternally rent free in my mind.

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's Press | Wednesday Books for the opportunity to read in exchange for an honest review.
