Thrillers in general are not my usual genre. That being said, Julie Soto can do no wrong. The characters here are interesting and complex and individually dynamic enough that I never got confused who was who.  I think we can all connect with the fear of being the odd-man-out in a friend group. The twist and turns were NOT predictable, and that end!! 😳

i’m very conflicted on what to rate this (which i guess is a good thing from a thriller???) she legit had me questioning everything i thought i knew abt each character… all of her characters are very complex which gives them very real teenage personalities. went from hating someone to liking them to back to hate and it was a continuous circle. it’s also very addicting.. anyway overall report is i am still questioning everything BUT it was good. the epilogue?? wild

(julie i am on my knees BEGGING for a romance book between jodi & julian)

Julie Soto you are an absolute gem. Sometimes I struggle with YA and this book definitely fits the genre, but it’s giving Veronica Mars/Pretty Little Liars. The thrills, the romance, classism, drama and murder. Oh and also supernatural?! How dare you give me a Logan Echols coded character! It was a relationship that didn’t make sense but also did and then somehow you end up rooting for them? Fast paced millennial teenage dream of a thriller.

Damn my biggest worry in high school was passing my AP classes, this was crazyyy. The Trashers was a hell of a ride. I was so tense throughout this book about what would happen to each of them. This book is told through the POV of Jodi who is the ā€œoutcastā€ in the Thrashers. Jodi is such a relatable character as we see their group dynamics and her struggles with fitting in at times. This was pretty fast paced and I couldn’t put it down. The climax felt a bit anticlimactic to me but the last three chapters were a bit insane.
