I laughed often and regularly in this book. The author perfectly captured teenageness so well without it being cringey while also being very funny to me, a non-teenager.
Please tell me if there’s a more Australian word than “festy”, I’ll wait.
Zeke’s family dynamics was so relatable to me too, I love seeing Italo-Australian life depicted in fiction.
There is some really dark stuff going on in this book but I think it ends with a little hope.
All in all it was amazing and I read it in a day, I couldn’t put it down.

The book did have its cute moments tho like when Hammer gave Zeke his footy scarf YOU KEEP MY OLD SCARF FROM THAT VERY FIRST WEEK CAUSE IT REMINDS YOU OF INNOCENCE AND IT SMELLS. LIKE. ME.
