I don’t generally leave reviews, I read a book and move on.
This book was fantastic. I felt like there was some really confronting, really raw, lived experiences woven into the fabric of this book.
I saw the ads for Invisible boys on Stan but wanted to read the book first because I generally don’t feel like books are given justice when they’re turned into TV shows. I’m time poor so listed to the Audio while I was working.
The narrator did a fantastic job, really drew me in from chapter 1. The ending did make me cry, I wasn’t expecting it to go that way with that person. I hate the stigma surrounding homosexuality, I felt like this book was really trying to normalise it as it should be, emphasising the shame that many people go through every single day. I’m struggling to articulate what I’m trying to convey.
Holden, I really loved your book 10/10 for me, I’m really looking forward to Yeah the boys when you publish it.
Ps: love seeing our Aussie lingo in there to ☺️
