I will eat up anything Emily Henry is serving, but this was a really lovely story. While many of the other stories rely on slightly more heightened characters or situations, this one starts with an outrageous concept but the characters feel really grounded and the development is natural and realistic. There are many of the same plot timing/tropes that come with an Emily Henry story, but as they come in life. And, as always, I found myself marking/kindle highlighting the beautiful truths about life and love that Emily’s characters uncover and share in their own self-exploration. Love love love Funny Story.

Finally read my first Emily Henry book. I wouldn’t call myself the biggest fan of romance books, but this was cute. Nothing was super surprising or groundbreaking. I enjoyed the main characters and I was never bored even though nothing really happens. I felt like the epiphanies the characters have about their childhoods seemed a little surface level and maybe something you realize and work out before enter your 30s, but perhaps I’m just being mean. I appreciated the effort to make it more, but it fell flat for me. Does nobody just sit and ponder by themselves anymore? Anyways, I genuinely rolled my eyes when the Miles says the title of the book because it’s so cliché, even though I shouldn’t be surprised at a romance book like this being corny. Cute read, but that’s all there is to it.

It's been a while since I've read a book by Emily Henry, but I have to admit, this one is probably my favorite. The story of the way the two MCs come together is funny yet heartbreaking in its own way.

After Daphne's fiance leaves her for his female BFF, the night before their wedding, Miles, the jilted boyfriend of said BFF, and Daphne become roommates. Their story ends up being the actual funny story this title suggests.

I love the characters in the story and the way the story was told. This one was a bit spicier than some of the other EH books I've read, but it had plenty of funny as well.

5-star read all the way.

I loved this book! Unexpected twists and very funny. I really enjoyed the characters. A little predictable but overall I really liked it.

kinda cute but also kinda dull? idk why they didn't just get together after the 50% mark i h8 when the primary conflict is their own emotional issues. also tired of the FMC moaning every time they eat good food? relax. reading other reviews in post is making me dislike the book more :)

Because infidelity is a trigger for me, I went into this one thinking I wasn't going to enjoy this story. However, I found the story and characters enjoyable, relatable, and realistic. While I didn't think the story was filled with  laugh-out-loud dialogue, I did smile at some of the banter. Overall, it was a nice fun read.
