The narrator of the audiobook was very good! Adalyn Grace writes eloquently & whimsy. Cottage core & Bridgerton vibes. A lot of milk & honey, lavender references. Soft and almost poetic. I bask in her writing.
However, Blythe our FMC drove me up the gods for saken wall. She is so vastly different than Signa (whom I adored)
Insufferable.
Selfish.
Materialistic.
Opinionated.
Cantankerous.
Brat.
Complete & utter snot.
Condescending.
Fate literally spent his whole power to make sure she had her visions and her father would see she is safe; and even visibly seeing the strain she berated him for 5 more minutes.
I enjoyed the names he called her. Brat, wretch, insufferable fool, beast & abomination. She needed it.
It’s no wonder someone tried to off her.
And now you are telling me Blythe is Life? I don’t see it, she’s too snide and rough, down and out and with a cloud above her always. Looming about like an infectious disease.
After saying all this; by around 60% I was really enjoying how everything was playing out. The character development of Blythe was happily appreciated. She softened her edges and had a bit more grace about her although the hand she was dealt was pretty crappy.
That epilogue
