So so so good, really challenged my world building skills at the beginning but once I got a hang of it it went super fast! Of course the last 100 pages had every twist and turn imaginable and I loved every second of it. I thought no other SJM series could match up with ACOTAR for me, but I 100% fell in love with these characters and this world. 1,000,000/10!!

This was a difficult book for me to get into, but once I just gave into the fact that I wouldn’t understand all the info dumping in the beginning, I had a great time. Lots of world building that was thrown at the reader right away. So much that i stopped trying to comprehend. I relied on the fact that SJM is a very repetitive writer, and just pushed through. There’s definitely a lot that I still missed, but that is okay cause SJM usually explains things well when they happen. And I’m reading in the kindle, so I can just search for names of things/characters in the book and go back to when it’s first explained. Hunt is very close to being number one on the book boyfriends list…. Idk what else to say about this book. I loved Bryce, she’s funny and strong asf. Some very millennial humor moments in this book, but also some I chuckled at. I had a great time overall, I could already see myself rereading this series and I haven’t even read the other books.

Wow, it took me a long ass time to get into this new series but once I was in it, I was hooked!

I got a bit grumbly with the lore dump at the beginning but I understand why it had to be done. It was neat seeing a SJM world that was so similar to our own with technology AND fantasy characters. I could also see little strings possibly tying this world to ACOTAR and that made me VERY intrigued about the possibilities of that in the future books!

It took me a good while to like Bryce, just like it took a while for Hunt to like her too. I too, was quite annoyed with her in the beginning, but as she revealed more about herself I understood why she acted the way they did.

Their love story was inevitable from the start and I really liked their banter BUT I feel like his utter and complete betrayal of Bryce’s trust near the end was kind of washed over in lieu of more important factors of the story. Like he was forgiven without even a conversation?!?! In my head I was like, “Hold up BB, I’m not done being mad at him yet!” But I guess him being sold into his worst nightmare and almost dying kind of repents him for it 🤷‍♀️

I kind of thought Ruhn was a loser at first, but I decided I adore him now and he must be protected at all costs.

Lehabah is a queen. May she rest in peace.

I’m excited to see what happens next! 🕺

Wow, what an experience. I appreciate the experimentation with urban fantasy, and it was a breath of fresh air compared to my usual reads. I also definitely think this is SJMs most complex world. The worldbuilding is a lot compared to her other books, but I didn't think it was too confusing like some say.  I like that Bryce has some real world issues regarding how she is treated for her body that we don't read a lot, I adore Ruhn and some of the other characters, and I got really emotional towards the ending. The overall build-up of Bryce and Ruhn's sibling relationship was my favorite. Granted, there are some parts that seemed just too unrealistic, and sheer page count made it difficult to get through sometimes. Still, I think I could end up liking this series more than ACOTAR.
