Unlike it's predecessors, it took me months to finish this book. This is because I restricted myself to fifty or so pages a day, so I wouldn't get caught up and then finish it in five days. Because that would have happened.
Because my reading of this book was so sporadic, I'm simply going to list my thoughts on it.
-In the beginning, I shipped Kaladin and Shallan so hard it hurt. But over the course of the book, I realized that their respective problems made them really incompatible. They would simply not be good for each other. I am now a die hard Adolin and Shallan shipper, and I will die on this hill. So there.
-The REFERENCES to the rest of the Cosmere oh my GOSH! SO. COOL. I got waaay more than I expected honestly, and I kept on squealing every time one popped up.
-We FINALLY get to see shadesmere, which was very interesting. Some people thought he spent too much time in there. If I'd had my way, we would have spent less time in the city and MORE time in Shadesmere. But Sanderson's way works well too.
-We still don't know much about faberials, which I'm hoping there will be more of in the next book.
-Lift is the best thing ever, I could read an entire Stormlight book from her perspective and still find her delightful. She's my favorite character by far. Seeing her interact with other characters only made me love her even more.
-Also, I love the way themes and messages were incorporated into this book, and the complex morality that it introduces. Most authors tend to shy away from this kind of stuff, Sanderson just drives straight in. It portrays a lot of lessons not in a preachy way, but in a way that makes you want to follow the steps of the characters.
-Seeing Dalinar's past was both horrifying and inspiring.
-Best. Friggen. Magic. System. EVER!!!
-
-Also, that end. THAT END!!!

I think Azure is Vivenna!! Calling it now.-We FINALLY get to see shadesmere, which was very interesting. Some people thought he spent too much time in there. If I'd had my way, we would have spent less time in the city and MORE time in Shadesmere. But Sanderson's way works well too.

ELHOKAR!!!! NOOOO! I used to think he was annoying but then he was trying SO HARD to be good and he loved his family so much and then he was murdered!!!! Moash can go to the very frontlines of the desolation and be ripped to pieces. The colorless ashmaker. I liked him so much too, I wanted him to join bridge four again, it was obvious he longed for it...-Also, that end. THAT END!!!
