Note
I'm still learning how to read poetry in terms of what is meant by the author and reading between the lines with a more critical eye.

Summary
What is it like to be a real Black woman? A woman who has sex? A woman who sees it all? A woman in a world that judges her? This collection is a reclamation of the power that Black women have.

Review
This 55-page collection hits and never stops hitting. Starting by discussing tindr and the dating industry, we open the door to the idea that Britteney Black Rose Kapri is not your average lover. The lines that she crosses in terms of modern romance are varied.

As to the form of the collection, there is line poetry interspersed with tweets makes the collection very modern and dates it at the same time. You feel her breath in every poem as she tries to break down social constructs. You almost believe she could do it on her own.

Recommended?
This collection is not for everyone. I would suggest if you are open to the idea of open relationships and reclamation of the B-word, this may be a good collection to try out.
