An inter-generational adventure starting in the 1750s Buganda Kingdom and ending with the present day descendants of the Kintu clan — I loved getting lost in the family tree and the sense of foreboding. It faltered for me around the liberal and sometimes tokenistic passages around sex, and the last section of the book felt rushed and a bit like a pretty easy ending.
