Amber was kidnapped by a serial killer, and believe it or not, that’s not the worst or weirdest thing that has happened to her lately. A mysterious woman showed up just in the nick of time to save her – or rather, to stop the serial killer, as the woman seems pretty indifferent towards Amber. After Amber’s escape she phones in an anonymous tip and tries to go back to life as normal – but soon the FBI is sniffing around wanting to ask her questions, and the last thing she wants is the feds digging into her extremely questionable past. So Amber goes on the run, landing in Vegas – and somehow, getting tangled up with another, even more dangerous serial killer, which puts her new friends (A sex worker and the wannabe-amateur-sleuth owner of a sleazy motel) in the crosshairs. Now, it’s up to Amber and the disagreeable vigilante who saved her life to take out a psychopathic mass murderer before he gets them first.
This book is hilarious - I loved Amber’s clever, humorous, and distinct narrative voice - but it’s also a hell of a thriller. There were some plot twists I didn’t see coming. All in all it’s a fun read (if you’re okay mixing fun and serial murder.)
Representation: Lesbian main character and other queer characters, POC characters
TW: classism and racism, and (obviously) torture and murder
I received an advance copy of this ebook from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

A phenomenal and hilarious thriller/mystery. This book hooks you from the get-go and it is hard to put down. I loved the dark humor and morally grey character traits of the FMC and Ski Mask Girl. The entire cast of characters was great and the style of the book was also a lot of fun. I can't think of a single thing I would change! A great book and a great audiobook, too!!

I'm not sure what I expected in this one, but whatever the answer would be, it definitely was not that. This one is very unique, quirky and ironic. Grabs you from the start where "Amber" is abducted by a serial killer. She manages to escape with the help of a serial killer hunter, and then it gets much more bizarre. I'm a fan of suspenseful thrillers, and with this one, you just knew something bad was coming and you walked into shed full of chainsaws anyways. It was definitely a veer from my traditional genres. The characters were flawed and unreliable, which added depth to the story as well. Definitely interesting, but didn't really leave me wanting more. Thanks so much to Michelle Gagnon, the publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this e-arc.

Thanks to NetGalley for this early read. Might be more of a 3.5 star but rounding up because I was interested enough to find out what happened.
The main character is kind of a shit show and I feel like some her story is unresolved and left us guessing but it was interesting to read cons conning other cons and serial killers. I definitely second guessed a couple times.
Worth the read overall.
