Like ToG, this book took a complete 180. I loved the development of every character, the intricacies of the plot, and obviously the romance. If you’re on the fence or felt meh after ACOTAR, definitely read this book before deciding to quit the series. Changed my entire opinion and I will definitely continue with the series.

I was so much more impressed with this addition to the series. I wasn’t sure where Maas would go after finishing ACOTAR, but the story has gone in a great direction. It felt more “real” than ACOTAR. Which in retrospect, ACOTAR feeling superficial was in a sense foreshadowing - brilliant work! I’m excited for the next one.
