I’d seen the movie a few years ago so I remembered a little bit about the twist but it was still so good. Lehane set it up so well and the writing style felt really immersive.
The scene where Teddy/Andrew remembers his wife murdering his children was so heartbreaking.
I really enjoyed this book!

Although the twist was a bit predictable, this was still an enjoyable read. It moved fast and kept me entertained! Very quick to finish and the last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat!

Even if you've watched the movie first, this book is still worth a read. Regardless, it's. Greatly tense and intriguing novel that reads easily, maybe even too easily. If this book had an apparent flaw, it'd be the lack of subtleties because of the writing style and word choice. This does in no way detract from the story, however, if you are able to put yourself into the mind of the characters.
