I really liked this one! It’s kind of like a soap opera, but it’s Greek mythology. I really, really wish someone would punch Apollo in the face for being an absolute creep. But that’s really my only complaint about this book. I loved the drama and I adore Persephone to no end! Lore Olympus vol 2 is getting a four stars from me.

Rachel Smythe does a really good job of taking myths and adjusting them into her own world. There is the obvious Hades and Persephone myth that we follow, but on top of that myth there are smaller myths sprinkled in and mentioned that makes everything feel more alive, but at the same time Rachel Smythe is creating new moments and conflicts that were never in a myth.
Speaking of conflicts, this volume does a lot to setting up for upcoming conflicts for the following volumes. There's also a lot of staple moments and personalities of characters that have been introduced in this volume and I can't wait to see how these personalities and characterisations grow over the volumes.

I liked the series but there isn't much more I can say. There was a lot of set up and the beginnings of Persephone dealing with what Apollo had done to her in the first book, so whilst a bit did happen we are still waiting for the fruits of what has been sown. In saying that if you know some of the Greek myths you can guess where these volumes may go or some future conflicts.

It was fun to reread this after so long - originally read online as a webcomic.
Overall, I’m still liking Smythe’s art style and how she conveys things with colors, style, etc. And I appreciate especially how Hades is processing his feelings towards Persephone and even states that he doesn’t feel like love is possible at this point with how little he knows about her.

A solid second volume! The drawings are still beautiful, the characters fun to follow, the story well written. There are some pacing issues here and there, in my opinion, but nothing too bad or distracting. I'm excited to read the other volumes!

I like Episode 47 with Hades writing the letter. There's just something about him writing down his feelings for Persephone that is so nice. I don't agree with
him going back to Minthe; she so clearly saw what she's missing and tries to crawl her way back.
I also like one of the last panels in Episode 29 with Hera "silently plotting", which is pretty much what all the gods do when met with displeasure.

💐💐💐💐💐 Five bouquets of Spring flowers!

There’s something so special about Lore Olympus. It’s gut wrenchingly honest at its heart, all while being funny, clever, and beautifully drawn.
I can’t get enough of it. I wish I’d bought the Illumicrate editions when I could’ve.
